Architectural Service
In considering the many different facets of a project we have set out the process we follow to give an idea of what to expect on your building project if you appoint us. We believe good communication is key to delivering a successful project and we will always guide you through each step of the process.
01/ Briefing
The briefing process is when you first come to us with your needs, wants and aspirations for your project.
To achieve them, we want to understand as much about you and your project as possible. In many ways this is why stage 01 is the most important part of the project.
To set off on the right foot, we ask you to provide a few details about yourself and the project on our contact form.
We then review the information and contact you to schedule a 20 minute free discovery call with us. During this call we will talk about the feasibility of your project, based on your anticipated budget, schedule and scope. Finally we will discuss next steps to bring your design to reality.
At this stage we will also help you commission a measured survey of your existing property or site. For the less complicated projects/builds we often undertake this aspect ourselves.
We will also advise on where any additional consultants may be required for your project.

02/ Concept
This stage combines the information gathered at stage 01 along with the measured survey.
We can now proceed with creating a number of varying concept designs which we feel best fulfil your design brief.
This stage may also involve basic 3D visuals to convey the shape, massing and other big ideas, to assist you in understanding our proposals.
The fun then really begins. Together we refine a concept down to one design option. Adapting it to suit your individual preferences or adding new aspects as we come across them.
03/ Spatial Coordination
With a concept design now agreed and signed-off we proceed with working up your preferred design in more detail.
This is when your vision starts to come to life. At this point we refine the initial concept, 3D visualisations may again be used to convey the main spaces showing you how the building will be in its finished arrangement.
When your design is finalised, if required, we will submit the planning application to your local authority. Liaising with the planners during the application period, keeping you informed at every step of the way.
As soon as planning consent is achieved, celebrations are in order as your vision for your home is about to become reality.
04/ Technical
To translate your bespoke design into reality further detail is added to the drawings once planning permission is granted.
We coordinate these technical design drawings and information with specialist input from consultants to allow us to submit a formal application to Building Control, who will be keeping an eye on building works. If the Planning department has specified certain conditions we also bring these into play now.
Following on from Building Regulations, the drawings and specification can be developed to further enhance the design package to ensure an adequate and accurate tendering process along with a seamless construction process.
As part of the tendering process, we can assist you in developing the design of bespoke interior solutions for furniture and storage. One such area that can be given extra attention is the kitchen.
05/ Construction
At last the project is on site. As part of the construction phase Home Architecture Studio can assist you and the contractor via additional details, site meetings etc to ensure the project runs smoothly from start to completion.
